I called several garage door companies and they absolutely refused to tell me the projected cost of fixing the problem that I described clearly.  They talked about truck charges, minimum initial rates , etc.  But no real idea of how much  the job might cost.
I asked one about  their hourly rate was and they replied "We dont have an hourly rate, we have an activity rate and it's just impossible to tell what actvities wil be involved." Finally I called AA.  The owner said "Sure, it woulds like one of you cables is broken.  We feel its a good idea to replace both at the same time.  We will be out tomorrow (two days  after  Christmas) and barring no other problems, the bill will be $129,"  His repairman,Chris came when he was expected.  He seemed pleasant,knowable, and efficient.  He spotted several other issues that could become problems and fixed them without charge.  And the bill was exactly what he said it would be.  I wont forget AA in the Twin Cities and I will tell all those folks I work with (I'm a realtor in the Twin Cities) that AA is th place to call

I have never been SO pleased after a service call!  Your company is: 1) is very easy to work with 2) does high quality work 3) and has extremely competitive pricing

First off, garage door opener track came loose from the wall.? Husband reattached it but door would not come down completely unless button was held when activated.? Consulted manual, made recommended adjustments, but to no avail.? Called AA Garage Door Service.? Sean arrived on-time and was professional, courteous, knowledgeable.? He explained everything he was doing when diagnosing the?issue and in a matter of minutes, found the problem.?? With only a staplegun, screwdriver, and WD40, we were back in business!?? What had happened was when husband had reattached the track, the wire for the door sensors had gotten tangled around the coil - so every time the door was engaged, the cord wrapped around the coil.? Apparently, the first time this had happened, it caused one of the wires to disconnect from the sensor on the floor.?? Who knew??? Sean unwrapped the tangled cord, reconnected the sensor and oiled it all back up.?

Service was better than expected and the?price was very reasonable, even before taking off?the Angie's List discount!? Would highly recommend this company again.? Kudos to Sean

Dave was nice, humble, very flexible, honest and ON TIME. Took him roughly 20 minutes to fix the cables. The door actually sounds smoother than before!

I call AA Garage Door and spoke with the owner (I believe his name was Dave). After explaining my situation he informed me that he had a special on a 1/2 Hp, LiftMaster opener with Wireless Keypad opener. I thought the price was very fair (I'd researched opener prices already) and asked when it could be installed. He said today between 12 noon and 4pm. I agreed and told him to go forward. His installer, Shawn, arrived at 12:40 and had the new opener installed in a little over 1 hour (mind you it is about 5 below zero today) and took no breaks. He did a great job, cleaned-up after himself, hauled away the old opener and briefed me on its operation. An added bonus was I was upgraded to a 3/4 Hp opener because they didn't have a 1/2 Hp in stock. This was done at no extra charge. Shawn was professional and very conscientious.

Dave had someone out the next day, and they replaced the opener mechanism and added an outside entry pad. They were pleasant, efficient and reasonably priced. We will definitely call them again when the other door opener gives up, which will probably be fairly soon, given that it's now 20 years old.

Although we had to reschedule the appointment one time due to a computer crash, Dave was very apologetic and sincerely felt bad. He was able to reschedule at our convenience. His pricing was significantly less than 3 other bids we received. Since this was not an emergency, we scheduled the garage door to be installed one week out (quicker than some others). The garage door was installed on time, and once again, the company was very flexible with our schedule and able to change the time with little notice. They did an excellent job installing and fixed our external keypad. Dave also adjusted and fixed the eye-controls at no charge when coming out to give us a free quote on the new garage. Our experience was excellent and i would highly recommend AA Garage Door to others.
